At last a windy day with convenient tide times that I could sail. Martin
had driven up from Cornwall to take part in this weekend's Hove UKWA event
so I made use of the free parking on the promenade to say hello. I had
vague thoughts of entering the comp but the extortionate £45 entry fee
soon made me change my mind. Anyhoo, I had a prime parking spot and it
looked just about windy enough so I thought I might as well have a go here
instead of moving on to Shoreham.
Crap to start with - only just enough wind to plane on the 6.6 and staying
upwind was difficult. However the wind soon filled in proper and I changed
down to the 5.8 to enjoy a decent enough hour of chop-bothering in the
sunshine. As the tide pushed in though the chop started to become a tad too
bothersome so I decided to pack up and head to a beach better suited to
mid-tide... (see next report)
